First Anniversary!

The cake was wrapped very, very well. So well that I didn't know I had actually frozen it upside down for an entire year! Amazingly it came out fairly unscathed...despite my little oops!

It actually tasted really good, maybe even better than on our wedding day! Since John had surprised me with several little treats, I decided I wanted to plan our first anniversary. On August 4th we went kayaking on the Potomac in the afternoon, which was very beautiful...but it was hot. Really, really hot...so hot that I actually decided to save the rest of our day's activities for Sunday, August 5th!

So on Sunday, August 5th, I packed a picnic lunch and we headed out to the National Arboretum. However I did not tell John that I had packed our wedding cake, crystal goblets, wedding cake cutter and a little CD player with speakers to play "With this Ring" at the arboretum.

Our first year has been absolutely delightful and we praise God for our marriage! Matchmaker Roarks we have you to thank for introducing us!!!
