Swimming!!!!

I love to swim. LOVE to swim. So imagine my delight when John told me that the University of Maryland has an indoor pool and they offer spouse memberships!!! Then I discovered the Eastern Market pool here on "the hill" that is free to DC residents! I'm positively in heaven. Granted, neither pool is as glamorous as the one pictured above, but they have their own odd charm. Eastern Market is a cute little area of town full of history and trendy/earthy/organic types. The architecture is old brick, the coffeehouses are all unique and mostly local and the farmer's market boasts an awesome variety of goodies (from fresh produce and street-side crepes to custom ordered meat and fish). It is much more like a French market than any American farmer's market I've ever seen. It comes alive during the weekend and full of cute vendors pedal their wares.
And, behind the historic farmer's market--there's a pool!!! So I've been swimming laps in view of the old brick marketplace. I feel so DC!!!!
