Popcorn Trick!!

I love popcorn. Any kind of popcorn--kettle corn, caramel corn, buttered popcorn, Cajun corn...if it is popped...I'll eat it. A friend loaned me her air-pop machine (sounds like a giant hairdryer) and I was in heaven. Except...I really don't have space for one more kitchen appliance (anyone else living in a DC condo will sympathize with having to move a winter coat and spare paper towels to reach your blender or food processor because there isn't enough counter space) and John doesn't like the squeak of crunching into popcorn kernels--so investing in a piece of equipment just to make popcorn for me doesn't really make sense. And let's face it...a whole bag of microwave popcorn is a little more than what I want for an afternoon snack...
Enter my favorite new trick:

1/4 cup of kernels (I use the off-brand ones from safeway) in a paper bag, seal the top with a little masking tape and microwave for about 5 minutes--IT WORKS!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! Then you can add exactly the amount of salt and butter you like and enjoy!
My favorite new recipe:
Cinnamon Kettle Corn
1 Tablespoon Smart Balance
2 Teaspoons sugar
1/2 Teaspoon salt
about 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon--or to taste
Melt butter, salt, sugar and some cinnamon together--drizzle in popcorn bag, shake to coat and sprinkle some extra cinnamon and a dash of salt (if you like) on top...enjoy!!

Thanks Jess!
We will be trying that soon.
I cannot make with my popcorn.
The whole big bag thing does not go well with my diet.
I will try your idea.
