Cookie Monster...gone healthy?

One of my husband's favorite foods: Chocolate Chip Cookies. Only with a twist: Since he enjoys them so much I wanted to find a recipe that was yummy and healthier than the standard butter-filled treat...
If anyone out there has ever experimented with replacing ingredients, you know that replacing oil in a cake recipe with applesauce or low-fat sour cream can be done easily without damaging the cake. In fact, I think the substitutes actually do good things for the cake! In the case of sour cream I think it adds a rich flavor, and applesauce it makes the cake stay moister longer.BUT...these rule just don't apply to cookies. Believe me. I've tried. They end up like soft little meringues with chocolate chips melted to the pan, or gummy un-browned globs that never quite turn into cookies...

So when I found this recipe I was delighted:
Chocolate-Chip Oatmeal Cookies
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt*
1 cup old-fashioned oats
4 tablespoons margarine
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/3 cup reduced-fat sour cream
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Lightly spray 2 baking sheets with cooking spray. Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt...stir in oats.
2. Cream together margarine and sugars and then add egg and vanilla. Stir in sour cream.
3. Add dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
4. Drop dough in teaspoonfuls onto baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden. Enjoy!! By the way, you can store the cookies in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Makes: 36 cookies
Nutritional Info:
85 calories per cookie with2.5 grams of fat with a half gram of fiber.
*I actually use half regular salt and half kosher salt--the bigger flakes of salt actually give a a really cool flavor--the sweet chocolate chips and salty bite lend a more complex flavor to an old favorite.
